Home Sleep Testing Coordination
Sleep testing allows us to better understand how breathing affects your sleep.
For patients who show signs or symptoms of sleep-disordered breathing, a home sleep test may be recommended. Home sleep testing helps gather objective information about breathing, oxygen levels, sleep quality, and possible obstructive sleep apnea.
Sleep apnea must be diagnosed by a licensed medical provider or sleep physician. Meadowlark Airway & Wellness helps coordinate the testing process and works collaboratively with medical providers so patients have the information needed to make informed treatment decisions.
Depending on your needs, we may recommend physician-interpreted home sleep testing as part of your comprehensive evaluation or to objectively evaluate treatment progress.
Patient Expectations
-
Patients will receive instructions on how to use the home sleep testing device. The device is typically worn overnight in the comfort of the patient’s own home.
-
Patients sleep as normally as possible while the device records breathing-related data. Most patients find the process simple and more comfortable than an in-lab sleep study.
-
The results are reviewed by the appropriate medical provider. Once a diagnosis and recommendations are available, our team can help discuss whether oral appliance therapy or other airway-focused options may be appropriate.
