Sleep and airway care is not a one-time event. Oral appliances require ongoing monitoring to ensure they remain comfortable, effective, and healthy for the teeth, gums, bite, and jaw joints.
Follow-up care allows us to monitor symptoms, appliance fit, jaw comfort, bite changes, and long-term treatment success.
As patients adapt, adjustments may be needed to optimize comfort and effectiveness.
Ongoing Appliance & Airway Follow-Up
-
Patients can expect to complete detailed intake forms, sleep questionnaires, health history forms, and insurance or medical documentation when appropriate. Previous sleep studies, CPAP records, dental records, and medical history are helpful.
Follow-up Visits
Patients should bring their appliance and share any changes in sleep, snoring, comfort, jaw symptoms, dental changes, or medical history.
-
Our team takes time to understand the full picture, including sleep quality, breathing, oral health, jaw function, airway risk factors, and patient goals. Care is personalized and may involve collaboration with medical and dental professionals.
Follow-up Visits
We check appliance fit, comfort, wear, jaw position, bite changes, and symptom response. Adjustments may be made if needed.
-
Patients should expect follow-up and ongoing monitoring. Sleep and airway care often requires adjustments, reassessment, and communication between providers to support long-term results.
-
Patients may be advised to continue appliance use, return for periodic monitoring, complete a follow-up sleep test, or coordinate care with their sleep physician or other providers.
